About Patmos Island School

Patmos Island School was founded in 2012 by the late Mr. Nzinyangwa Joel Mmbaga an Accountant and a teacher who recognized that educated citizens are the basis of a prosperous economy and are the foundation of the future high quality of life in Tanzania. It was his dream to establish a school so as to take part in educating the society as he had passion to impart knowledge to the upcoming generation.

The founder envisioned a school that would cater to the education needs of entire community including the underprivileged children by providing them with quality education that prepare them for a better future, so they may have the opportunity to realize their own proper future living conditions. He envisages Patmos Island School as a foundation of creating children’s future to reflect the school motto ‘The future begins here’.

The school is now owned by the Registered Trustees of The Nzinyangwa Education Trust Fund a Trust established by the founder’s family with the aim of honouring his vision.

The goal of the Nzinyangwa Education Trust Fund is to provide better education to children of all origins by focus on street children, orphans and children from poor families.
